Dream

It has to be a dream
A fantasy of mind
That someone else might be
So mutually entwined

Our thoughts are so alike
All commonalities
This state of bliss can't last
Soon are finalities

But, enjoy it while it lasts
This break from daily strife
Enjoy this perfect dream
That might unlock the life

But who can say there is an end
To such perfectness
What will be an end to this
So we'll avoid the mess

I will do all that I can
To keep such air of fun
Never will I ever stop
We never will be done

I look to see if by mistake
I think this on and on
But everywhere there is a sign
God shows no other dawn

This happiness is but one day
That lives forever on
And still it does, my soul suggests
Might still one day be gone

But nay!  Away, ye evil thought!
Don't ponder such a cloud
This rainy say shall be away
On us God's grace endowed

I pray, I pray it every night
Where is the one for me
With earnestness I've looked and looked
You are the gift from He

Finally, I see the light
My love is not a dream
It is but one of God's gifts
That we'll one day redeem

Author's Notes:  Another 1st Period wonder.  This is another of my favorites- it sounds good, it feels good, and it rhymes!  Already, when people've read it, they come away with multiple impressions.  Yay.  It does seem to have something of an ambiguity to it.  My only discrepancy with it is the fact that between stanza 3 and 4, there is a really big change in rhythm...but it still sounds good.  I like it a lot!
