Central Church of Christ

That would be the church I go to- located in downtown Chattanooga.  What makes it unique is the fact that it's both serious and fun.  Odd, you say?  Not at all- with a congregation of 300 or so who know each other pretty well- from babies to the elderly.  We harbor every type of person- from the most energetic youth in the nation, to the funniest, coolest seniors.

The building itself is nearing its 100th year.  It was built around 1908 (I'll have to look at some of the historical documents in the library again- i was thumbing through them a few weeks ago, and I'm recalling the exact date off my memory- which isn't all that great).  It had an addition made to it around the 30's-40's...it's intention was as a bomb shelter, but now it's used as a corridor in the basement that contains many classrooms.

We also host the Christian Student Center for the UTC campus- it's right behind the church parking lot.  It's a good place to go hang out (from a high schooler's perspective), but as I understand it, if you're going to UTC, it is a good place to live- and Mrs. Mance cooks some of the BEST meals.

Though I see a lot of things happening around, I know the most about our youth group, since that is the church activity I am most active in.  And, it takes up a LOT of time- which is not a bad thing.  They're all a load of fun to be around.  Actually, that was a really big understatement.  I love being around the people in my church!  Here are some of the activities that we are involved in regularly:

Lads to Leaders
Midsouth Youth Camp
